Vickie was elected to serve as the 2018 President for the Fayette County Board of Realtors®. Vickie’s platform for 2018 was “Building Community Inside and Out”, in which she endorsed collaborations between the REALTOR® organization, community leaders and local businesses. “With all the growth taking place in Fayette county, I wanted to partner with local officials, as well as community and business leaders, in order to establish the REALTOR@ organization as their primary contact for housing needs, information and data”.
Vickie’s 2018 accomplishments with the Board of Realtors® included, but certainly not limited to "Ticket to Ride" where local realtors went on tour with the Fayette County School System. The purpose of the tours was to provide the Realtors® with accurate information so they can knowledgeably inform potential homebuyers about Fayette’s public schools. The collaboration won the Fayette County Public Relations Department the IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) Golden Flame Award, and the 2019 National Golden Achievement Award. Another accomplishment comprised of Vickie and her executive team applying for and being awarded the Smart Growth Grant from the National Association of Realtors®. She and her education committee then collaborated with Pinewood Forrest in Fayetteville to bring a "New Urbanism" class to the Realtor® community. The class concept was the first of its kind in Atlanta. The 3-hour interactive class consisted of a panel of guest speakers from the metro Atlanta area who explained the new urbanism concept, and how the mixed use movement is changing the landscape in metro Atlanta.
Vickie has the distinction of being the first African American to lead the Fayette County Board of REALTORS@ in the association's 50-year history. She currently serves the realtor board as State Director for Georgia Association of Realtors® and is a member of the Professional Development committee on the state level. She was awarded of Realtor@ of the Year in 2019.
