Your Next County Commissioner!
Vickie is a successful businesswoman and a passionate volunteer leader, focused on building a better local community. As your Commissioner, Vickie will use proven business principles, and her passion for service and dedication to support all Fayette County residents.
Vickie has lived in Fayette County, in Unincorporated Tyrone for over 24 years, and is married with three adult sons. In addition to his full-time job, her husband Wilvor is a Commissioner with the Flint River Boy Scouts, and two of her sons are Eagle Scouts, from Troop 79 in Tyrone.
Vickie grew up in Denver, Colorado, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Houston. She moved to Atlanta in 1992 from Toronto, Ontario. Her professional career, while in Atlanta, consists of 15 years with United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, then as an entrepreneur. Her experience at United Way includes, Office Manager for its Volunteer Center, Director of Gifts in Kind Atlanta, and Campaign Director for Fayette and Coweta counties. She believes her background in social service and communications gives her a servant's heart combined with the caring and understanding needed for public service.
She is now the CEO of two small businesses. One of which she co-owns with her son Parker, who is on the Autism Spectrum. She was the 2018 President of the Fayette County Board of Realtors, and the board’s first African American President in its 50-year history. Today, she is the President of the Rotary Club of Fayetteville (serving her third term), and winner of its 2023 prestigious Sheffield Leadership Award. She’s on the Board of AVPride, a youth leadership organization here in the county, and was recently appointed (with a unanimous vote) by the board of commissioners to the Region Six Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases Regional Advisory Council.
Vickie enjoys church activities, traveling, spending time with her family and friends. She and her family are members of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
